How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team fell to Baptist Bible by a score of 77-70 in the NCCAA National Championship game on Saturday, March 19.

The Chargers (23-8 Overall) got their offense started when Jordan Shewbridge connected on a jump shot two minutes into the game. Grant Sareyka followed by hitting a jumper, cutting LBC's deficit down to three. Baptist Bible (21-3 Overall) used an 8-0 run to stretch their lead to 15 points. The Chargers responded using baskets from Adam Stoltzfus and Sareyka to pull back within five points. The Patriots continued to shoot the ball at a high rate, taking a 24-12 lead with 10:14 remaining in the first half. Seth Beers drilled a 3-pointer to cut the deficit down to nine. Shewbridge and Tyler Hilton each connected on a pair of free throws, closing out a 7-0 run. The Chargers would get within four points when Jordan Praylow connected on a 3-pointer. The teams traded baskets through the final four minutes, with Baptist Bible leading 38-33 at the half.

Ethan Beachy started the scoring in the second half, hitting a 3-pointer to make the score 40-36. Beachy scored eight points early in the half to keep LBC within striking distance. Stoltzfus hit a jump shot to pull LBC within two points with 15:40 remaining in the half. The Chargers continued to fight, getting within one point after Hilton finished a layup on a fast break. LBC could not capture the lead but remained within striking distance down the stretch. Shewbridge scored 8 of his 22 points in the final five minutes, pulling LBC back within two points after hitting three free throws with 1:35 remaining in the game. The Patriots connected on clutch free throws down the stretch to hold and win by a score of 77-70.
