How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped game one of their doubleheader with Penn St. Harrisburg, falling 10-2 on Saturday, March 26.
 
The Chargers (0-11 Overall, 0-3 United East) used some great defensive plays to slow the Lions early in the game. LBC's defense turned a pair of double plays to help starting pitcher Alyssa Hamilton. After only allowing one run in the first three innings, Penn St. Harrisburg (8-5 Overall, 3-0 United East) capitalized on three errors to score six runs in the fourth inning and take control of the game.
 
The Lions added three more runs in the sixth inning, taking a 10-0 lead. LBC finally got the bats going in the bottom of the sixth inning. Noelle Martin lifted a single into center field. Sheyenne King then singled to center field, putting runners on first and second. Hamilton perfectly placed a single in right field allowing King and Martin to score. The Chargers could not plate another run to keep the game going, falling 10-2.

- Sheyenne King collected a hit, scoring one of the Chargers' runs

How It Happened
The Chargers (0-12, 0-4 United East) failed to bounce back from their game one defeat, falling in game two by a score of 10-0.

Starting pitcher Noelle Martin pitched well, holding the Lions' offense to just one run in four innings of action. The Chargers' offense put themselves in position to score in the bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Phoebe Clemens ripped a single through the left side. Bryanna Hoover then drew a walk, but LBC could not advance the runners any further. In the second inning, Hannah Lieb stung a ball into left field, that bounced off the left fielders' glove, allowing Lieb to hustle over to second base. The Chargers could not capitalize on the mistake and continued to trail going into the fifth inning. Penn St. Harrisburg (9-5, 4-0 United East) broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring nine runs to take a 10-0 lead. LBC could not climb back into the game, falling 10-0.

The softball team will return to action when they host Wells College in a United East doubleheader on Friday, April 1 starting at 1:00 p.m.
