How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Wells College by a score of 15-1 on Friday, April 1.
The Chargers' offense started strong, grabbing the lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Alyssa Hamilton led off the game with a single through the right side.
Sheyenne King and
Phoebe Clemens each drove a single into right, loading the bases.
Adalyn Steiner then singled through the right side, scoring a pair of runs. Clemens and Steiner pulled off a double steal and, on an error, Clemens scored.
Alyssa Paulson then delivered a single, scoring Steiner. Later in the inning,
Noelle Martin hit a double into left field, driving in a run to give the Chargers (1-12 Overall, 1-4 United East) a 5-0 lead.
LBC extended the lead in the bottom of the second inning. Hamilton and King led off the inning with back-to-back singles. Clemens drilled a single into left field, driving in Hamilton. Steiner kept the rally going, hammering a double which allowed two runs to score. Paulson drove in a run with a single up the middle, scoring another run and giving LBC a 9-0 lead.
Chloe King smacked a single, driving in a run to extend the advantage to 10 runs. Later in the inning, Hamilton launched a double into left field, bringing in two more runs.
Sheyenne King brought in one last run, scoring Hamilton with a single through the left side.
LBC tacked on one run in the third and fourth innings, building a 15-0 lead. Starting pitcher Hamilton controlled Wells' (0-7 Overall, 0-5 United East) offense, holding them to one run on three hits, while striking out four batters. The Chargers closed out the victory, picking up the 15-1 win.

How It Happened
LBC continued their momentum from their game one victory, rolling to a 16-1 win in game two.
The Chargers (2-12 Overall, 2-4 United East) started game two with a bang, with
Alyssa Hamilton smashing a solo home run over the center field fence.
Sheyenne King smacked a single up the middle and stole second to put herself in scoring position.
Alyssa Paulson drove a single through the right side, scoring King.
Chloe King then hammered a double into right center, scoring Paulson.
Noelle Martin closed the scoring with an RBI single to put the Chargers ahead 4-0.
LBC kept building on their advantage in the second inning.
Jade Eshelman led off the inning by drawing a walk. Hamilton remained hot, crushing a double over the left fielder's head, allowing Eshelman to score. Later in the inning,
Adalyn Steiner doubled through the left side, scoring Hamilton. Paulson drove a single into center field, scoring Paulson to put LBC ahead 7-0.
The Chargers pushed their advantage, racking up eight runs in the third inning. LBC totaled eight hits in the inning, including a triple by
Phoebe Clemens that scored two runs.
Chloe King also shined in the inning, posting two doubles in the inning. Starting pitcher Martin controlled Wells (0-8 Overall, 0-6 United East), holding the Express to one run on one hit while posting six strikeouts. The Chargers closed out a 16-1 victory, turning a double play in the fifth inning to secure the win.
