How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team could not hold off Penn St. Abington, falling by a score of 8-6 in game one on Saturday, April 9.
Penn St. Abington (11-8 Overall, 6-3 United East) jumped out to an early lead, using some well-placed bunts to grab a 2-0 lead. The Chargers (6-15 Overall, 6-7 United East) answered back in the second inning.
Adalyn Steiner led off the inning by sitting a single into left field.
Alyssa Paulson reached on a field error, putting runners on first and second.
Chloe King kept the offense rolling, hammering a single up the middle, scoring Steiner. Later in the inning,
Sarah Davies drove a single into right field, driving in her first collegiate RBI in the process.
Alyssa Hamilton then rocketed a triple down the left field line, scoring Davies to give LBC a 3-2 lead.
After the Lions tied the game in the bottom of the second inning,
Phoebe Clemens put the Chargers ahead in the third inning. Clemens reached on an error and later in the inning stole second base. On the steal attempt, Clemens made the most of two errors, scoring from second to put LBC ahead 4-3. The Chargers tacked on another run in the fifth inning. With runners on first and second, Paulson smacked a single through the left side, driving in a run to make the score 5-3.
Penn St. Abington stormed back in the bottom of the sixth inning, plating five runs to take an 8-5 lead. The Chargers attempted to rally in the seventh inning.
Hannah Lieb started the inning by reaching on an error. Clemens singled up the middle to put runners on first and second. Later in the inning, Paulson hammered a ball toward third base, allowing Lieb to score. LBC would load the bases in the inning, but could not tie the game, falling 8-6. Â

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team was not able to rebound from their game one defeat, falling to Penn St. Abington 15-0 in game two. Â
The Chargers (6-16 Overall, 6-8 United East) looked to strike in the second inning.
Chloe King knocked a single up the middle, but the Chargers could not move her into scoring position. The Lions (12-8 Overall, 7-3 United East) began to find their momentum, scoring three runs in the second inning and one run in the third inning, building a 4-0 lead. Penn St. Abington exploded in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring 11 runs to seize complete control of the game. LBC could not mount a rally, falling 15-0 in five innings.
