How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped game one of its doubleheader with Penn St. Harrisburg by a score of 8-1 on Friday, April 15.

The Chargers (6-17 Overall, 6-9 United East) got off to a rocky start, falling behind 3-0 in the first inning. Penn St. Harrisburg (15-8 Overall, 9-2 United East) tacked on another run to extend their lead to four. LBC got on the board in the top of the fourth inning. Hannah Lieb led off the inning with a single through the right side. Phoebe Clemens then launch a double into right field, putting runners at second and third. Adalyn Steiner hit a hard ground ball toward third, allowing Lieb to score.

The Lions responded, scoring twice in the fourth inning to make the score 6-1. Harrisburg added a run in the fifth and sixth inning, putting the game out of the Chargers' reach.

- Phoebe Clemens went 1-3 with a double
- Adalyn Steiner drove in the team's lone RBI in fourth inning
- Hannah Lieb singled and scored a run
- Alyssa Hamilton and Sarah Davies each collected a hit

How it Happened
The Chargers (6-18 Overall, 6-10 United East) could not recover from their game one defeat, falling to Penn St. Harrisburg (16-8 Overall, 10-2 United East) by a score of 8-0 in five innings of action.

The Lions capitalized on grand slam in the second inning to quickly build a 4-0 lead. The Chargers tried to respond in the top of third inning.  With two outs in the inning, Alyssa Hamilton worked a walk to reach base. Hannah Lieb singled, putting runners on first and second. LBC could not capitalize on the opportunity, stranding both runners.

Harrisburg added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to build an eight-run lead. The Chargers could not plate a run in fifth inning, falling 8-0.

- Hannah Lieb went 1-2 hitting a single in the third inning
- Adalyn Steiner also went 1-2 with a single
- Alyssa Hamilton and Chloe King each worked a walk

- Noelle Martin pitched 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs on six hits

It's a quick turnaround for the Chargers as they face Penn College at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on April 16.
