How it Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team took down United East foe Penn St. Abington by a score of 4-2 on Friday, April 22.

The Chargers (11-20 Overall, 9-12 United East) fell in an early hole, allowing Penn St. Abington (16-11 Overall, 11-6 United East) to grab a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. LBC had an answer in the bottom of the first inning. Alyssa Hamilton led off the inning by smashing a solo home run over the left field fence.

Hamilton continued her momentum, pitching the next six innings holding Abington to only three hits. LBC surged in front in the third inning. Hamilton led off the inning by drawing a walk. Hannah Lieb lined a double into left center, putting runners on second and third. Phoebe Clemens reached on an error to load the bases. Bryanna Hoover hit hard ground ball to short stop and Hamilton beat the throw home, scoring to tie the game a two. Later in the inning, Chloe King blasted a single up the middle, driving in two runs to go ahead 4-2.

The Chargers shut down the Lions' attack, working out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning. LBC picked up the 4-2 victory.

Inside the Numbers
- Alyssa Hamilton blasted her second home run of the season in the first inning
- Chloe King was 2-3 with a double, driving in two RBIs
- Bryanna Hoover drove in a run
- Hannah Lieb went 2-4 with a double

How it Happened
The Chargers could not continue their momentum from the first game, falling by a score of 10-2 in five innings.

Trailing 1-0, LBC took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Alyssa Hamilton led off the inning with double to right center. After she advanced to third base, Phoebe Clemens ripped a single up the middle to tie the game at one. Later in the inning, Clemens would score when Adalyn Steiner grounded out to second, giving LBC a 2-1 lead.

Penn St. Abington responded by scoring four runs in the second inning and three runs in the third inning to take an 8-2 lead. The Chargers could not recover, eventually falling by a score of 10-2.
