How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College baseball team could not complete a late-inning comeback, falling to Penn College by a score of 16-10 on Tuesday, May 10.

Penn College scored four runs in the top of the first inning, grabbing the early lead. LBC answered back in the bottom of the first inning. Brian Coburn belted a single into left field to start the rally. Tyler Cunningham cracked a single into left field to put two runners on base. Ethan Varricchione dropped a single into right field, allowing Coburn to come around and score. Later in the inning, Varricchione stole second base and on an overthrow of second, Cunningham scored from third.

The Wildcats answered back, scoring twice in the top of the second inning and four times in the third inning to stretch the lead to eight. LBC tried to climb back in the game in the bottom of the third inning. Blake Greenly led off the inning by blasting a single into center field. Coburn hammered a home run over the left center field fence. The Chargers kept the rally going, putting runners on the corners. Adam Naylor drove a single through the left side to score Jaden Pinkney. Josh Noll blasted a single through the left side, scoring Varricchione to make the score 10-6. Relief pitcher Colin Brubaker halted Penn College's offense, holding them scoreless in the fourth and fifth innings.

LBC cut into the deficit in the fifth inning. Pinkney led off with a double to left center and he advanced to third on a single by Varricchione. Harrison Hobdy reached a on a fielders' choice, allowing Pinkney to score and making the score 10-7.

Trailing 11-7, the Chargers made one final push in the bottom of the seventh inning. Pinkney led off the inning with a single to center field and Cunningham drew a walk to put runners on first and second. Varricchione was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Pinkney would then score on a wild pitch, cutting the deficit down to three. Naylor reached base on a throwing error that allowed LBC to plate two more runs, cutting Penn College's lead down to one. The Chargers could not tie the game and Penn College added five runs across the next two innings to pickup a 16-10 victory.

Inside the Numbers
- Brian Coburn launched a two-run home run, finishing the game 2-5 with two RBIs
- Jaden Pinkney hammered a double, going 2-4 with three runs scored
- Adam Naylor recorded two hits, driving in a pair of RBIs in the process
