The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team started their 2022 season with a loss to the powerhouse Eastern University Eagles. The Eagles finished business quickly, taking the first three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-11, and 25-15. The Chargers move to 0-1 on the year while Eastern begins 1-0.

How It Happened: The Eagles jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, posting several kills to begin the first set, but the Chargers wouldn't back down, returning with a few offensive attacks of their own bringing the deficit within six points (12-18). Despite the offensive push led by seniors
Chloe King and
Faith Helman, Eastern's attack would prevail with set one finishing 25-16.

Much like the first set, the Eagles would come out of the gate firing on all cylinders in the next two sets. The Chargers would continue to remain in position to make a run, keeping a seven-to-eight-point deficit for most of the night, but would fall short 25-11 and 25-15. The Eagles offensive attack would prove to be too much for the night, leading to a 3-0 sweep in both programs' first competition of the 2022 season.

From the Coach: "This weekend will be some of the best teams we play all season. The girls played hard and we will continue to improve and learn." – Coach Julie Brubaker

By the Numbers: The Eagles would control the offensive battle, finishing with a 30-18 advantage in kills and 13-2 lead in aces…
Chloe King would lead the Chargers with five kills while fellow teammate
Faith Helman finished with 12 assists for the night. Sophomore
Leah Helman would post seven digs for the match.
