The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team tied 2-2 to Penn St. Harrisburg in an away game with an outstanding finish. The Chargers are 9-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the United East. The Lions hold an overall record of 8-3-4 and are 3-0-1 standing in conference play.
How It Happened: To start out the game, Penn St. Harrisburg got a quick look on the net, but Chargers' goalkeeper
Kari Ann Mecke made an early save to keep it at zero. Lancaster Bible answered with some pressure of their own, getting two corner kicks and a shot from
Kendal Ream. The tides were not in the Chargers' favor, however, and the Lions scored the first goal of the game in the 22
nd minute. Later in the half,
Samantha Perloni got a header for Lancaster Bible's first shot on goal of the game, but it was saved as the team went into halftime down 1-0.
Ream started off early in the second half getting a shot in the 48
th minute, but it was just wide of the net. The Lions replied with constant pressure, getting three shots on goal in the span of a minute; the first two were saved by Mecke but the third ended as a goal for Harrisburg. In the 73
rd minute, as the team was pushing for a resurgence, Perloni found Ream for Lancaster Bible's first goal of the match. In outstanding fashion, the Chargers found the back of the net one more time to tie up the match thanks to a goal from
Isabella Eufemia. While the team did not come out with a win, the Chargers ended up drawing with the Lions 2-2 as a consequence of their late effort.
