The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team traveled down to the Nation's Capital on Saturday night for their fourth United East Conference game of the season, winning 4-0 over Gallaudet to improve to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in conference. The Bison fall to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in conference.
How It Happened: The Chargers started fast as junior
Alison Holl sent the ball into the back left side of the net, scoring her first goal of the season and second goal of her career just under two minutes into the game. Sophomore
Leah Perreault was credited with the assist, her first of two assists on the night. With a 1-0 lead early, the Chargers remained on the offensive front, sending a total of 20 shots towards the goal. Senior
Kendal Ream managed to get a goal of her own in the 27th minute off an assist from
Isabella Eufemia, a teammate that has assisted several of Ream's goals this season.
With a 2-0 lead coming out of halftime, the Chargers kept their foot on the gas as Ream scored her second of the night and 16
th goal of the season on an assist from Perreault to make it 3-0 with 43 minutes to go. The Chargers got one final goal from freshman
Madisyn Baine, her first career goal, at the 60
th minute on an assist from fellow freshman
Leah Iman. The game would end with 19 minutes left due to injuries on the Gallaudet side, but the Chargers had six different girls contribute on the offensive end.
By the Numbers: The Chargers dominated the shot chart, outshooting Gallaudet 31-0… the Bison had eight saves on the night… the Chargers had 17 corner kicks… Ream had two goals, Holl and Baine each had one goal… Perreault, Eufemia, and Iman all contributed an assist, with Perreault dishing two.
Information to Know: The Chargers are 13-2 all-time against the Bison and are on a five-game winning streak against Gallaudet… the Chargers are just one win away from tying their win total from the 2022 season… LBC is currently tied for 10th in all of NCAA Division III in shutout percentage with nine shutouts in 12 games (75%)... Lancaster Bible has clinched a spot in the 6-team United East Volt Division playoffs as they now cannot finish last in the division after beating the Bison, currently holding a 3-1 conference record... Ream is currently third in the conference for goals scored and is tied for the 8th-most goals by a Charger in a single season… Ream also sits in a tie for 5th in all of NCAA Division III with 16 total goals... Perreault and Eufemia are tied for third in the conference for assists.
