How It Happened:Â Straight out of the gates,
Jenna Dombach came roaring into the first quarter scoring, the Chargers' first six points. Behind an and-one from
Raven Hunter, the team continued to pull away, leading 13-4 seven minutes in. Lancaster Bible continued to play stifling defense and defend their lead going into the second quarter up 16-8. The Seahawks started to get things going and brought the game back to 23-21, but a Dombach and-one sparked a massive scoring outburst for Lancaster Bible. From that point on, the team went on a 15-2 run behind seven points from
Isabella Eufemia, and the Chargers entered halftime with a 38-23 lead.Â
Â
There was no slowing down for this Chargers offense in the second half, starting on a 5-1 run in just under two minutes as
Alaysha Iwais assisted on both a Dombach three and Hunter layup. However, the Seahawks quickly responded and pulled together a 12-2 run, making it a 45-36 game in favor of Lancaster Bible. In the final three and a half minutes the Chargers tightened up defensively and went into the final quarter leading narrowly, 48-42. The fourth quarter saw a lot of defense from both sides, but the Seahawks outscored the Chargers 18-12 to bring the game back to two points. The Seahawks drilled two threes in a row to finish off the game, and Lancaster Bible ended on the wrong side of a comeback, losing 73-69.
