Lancaster Bible Charges Away with a Win Against Penn St. Berks

The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team snagged a win during their trip to Penn St. Berks on Tuesday night. The Chargers are now 17-7 overall and 14-1 in conference play, while the Lions fall to 7-14 overall and 5-9 in the conference.
 
How It Happened
At the start of the game, Lancaster Bible struggled to gain its footing against Penn St. Berks trailing 11-0. After over three minutes of play, Lancaster Bible guard Jordan Shewbridge was able to nail a three to put the Chargers on the board. Shortly after, the Chargers scored 15 unanswered behind eight straight points and two steals from Shewbridge, bringing them to an 18-13 lead. Nine minutes into the half, junior guard Jordan Praylow hit a three to give the Chargers a 25-19 lead. The teams battled, trading baskets back and forth, but Charger guard Grant Sareyka got two straight buckets to give Lancaster Bible a 38-28 lead with 5:29 remaining in the first. To cap off a strong first-half performance, Sareyka hit his third three-pointer of the game as Lancaster Bible ended the half leading 52-36.
 
To start the second half, junior forward Andrew Zentner added his eighth point off the bench with a layup on the Chargers' first possession. Lancaster Bible guard Seth Beers then showed his passing skills with three straight assists, each one going to a different teammate. Senior forward Ethan Beachy gave the Chargers a 73-48 by drilling a three with 13:23 left in the half. Sareyka kept the Chargers rolling after making a layup, giving him his 24th point with just under a quarter of the game left. With 5:52 remaining, Zentner finished a tough layup while being fouled, giving him 18 on the night and bringing Lancaster Bible to a 91-61 lead. Just two minutes later, Zentner grabbed a steal and got a bucket on the other end to give him 21 on the night. With under a minute left, Praylow gave the Chargers their largest lead of the game and continued his perfect shooting game. Lancaster Bible would go on to defeat Penn St. Berks 102-69.

Lancaster Bible extends their win streak to ten in a row. The Chargers tied their season-high in first-half points after putting up an outstanding 52. Grant Sareyka is now just eight points shy of reaching 1,000 career points following his 24-point performance. After tonight's win, Lancaster Bible has now won ten straight against Penn St. Berks.
