Knights Take Down Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College baseball team squared off against the Knights of Neumann University on Wednesday afternoon, their first game since spring break last week. The Chargers ended up losing 23-12 moving the Chargers to 2-8 overall while the Knights improve to 4-6 overall.

How It Happened: The Knights opened the top of the first inning with three runs to start the game off. The Chargers needed to respond and senior Blake Greenly didn't wait long, sending the second pitch of the inning dead center for his first home run of the season. Harrison Hobdy and Brian Coburn scored on a James Toney single through the right side, tying the game at 3-3. The Chargers managed to hold the Knights scoreless in the top of the second while the Chargers scored two, Hunt and Greenly both scoring.

The Knights tied the game at 5-5 after adding two runs to the board, and the Chargers couldn't get anything going to keep the game at 5-5 after three innings. The fourth inning was all the Knights as they poured in 11 total runs on four hits and three errors to take a double-digit 16-5 lead.

The Chargers looked to chip away at the lead scoring four runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth inning, but weren't able to close the deficit anymore, ending the night on a 12-23 loss.
