The Lancaster Bible College Women's Lacrosse team lost to the Wilson Phoenix 12-1 on Thursday afternoon. The Chargers fall to 2-6 overall while the Phoenix improve to 5-3 overall.
 
How It Happened: Goals came early for both the Chargers and the Phoenix as the Phoenix had a 2-1 lead with just over seven minutes played in the first quarter. Junior 
Katelynn Perrotta scored the lone goal for the Chargers at 7:50, marking her 16
th of the season. The Phoenix managed to put together three more of their own goals before the end of the period to give them a 5-1 lead after one period of play.
 
Neither team was able to get much going in the second and third period due to the defensive prowess of the defenses and their goalies. The Phoenix did score three goals in the thirty minutes of play to make it an 8-1 deficit going into the fourth quarter.
 
With the Chargers looking to rally in the fourth for one final comeback, the Phoenix didn't let anything happen scoring four more goals leading to a 12-1 win for the Phoenix.
 
By the Numbers: The Chargers fired off eight shots compared to the Phoenix' 25 shots… both teams had five saves for the day… the Chargers picked up 19 ground balls for the day but managed only one draw control… Perrotta had the lone goal for the Chargers including a ground ball and one caused turnover… 
Lindsey Weaver had six ground balls and 
Kassandra Horning had three ground balls.
 
Information to Know: This was the Chargers' first loss to the Phoenix in program history… last year the Chargers beat the Phoenix at home 15-7… the Chargers have just eight regular season games left including three more non-conference games.
