Women’s Lacrosse Drops First Conference Game

The Lancaster Bible's Women's Lacrosse team fell to St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday, April 1st, dropping to 2-7 overall after losing their first conference game of the year. On the other side, the Seahawks improve their record to 5-5 on the year with a 1-0 record in the United East.
 
How It Happened: The Chargers could not get much going for themselves in the first half, and the Seahawks took advantage by scoring 17 unanswered goals by halftime. Just 30 seconds into the third period, Kym Kouterick put one in the net for Lancaster Bible off an assist from Lindsey Weaver. Unfortunately, Saint Mary's (Md.) rattled off five more goals in a row. Katelynn Perrotta and Katelyn Lemaszewski each got a goal for the Chargers in the fourth period, but it wasn't enough, and the Seahawks went on to win 25-3.
 
By the Numbers: Saint Mary's (Md.) got off 43 shots to Lancaster Bible's 10… Katelynn Perrotta led the Chargers with five shots, one of them being a goal… Kyleigh Zenewicz had eight saves for Lancaster Bible… Hailey Betch led the Seahawks with seven shots, four goals, and three assists.
 
Information to Know: Lancaster Bible has not beaten Saint Mary's (Md.) as they are 0-2 against them all-time. The Chargers are now on a five-game losing streak and fall to 2-2 at home this year. Katelyn Lemaszewski was able to score her first goal of the year and of her career. Kym Kouterick now has eight goals and five assists on the year after today's game.
 
Up Next: The Chargers will be traveling to play La Roche on Wednesday, April 4th at 4:00 p.m. as they look to beat another conference opponent.
