The Lancaster Bible College softball team picked up their first two wins of the 2023 season on Monday, March 6
th over Dean, 8-1, and Hilbert, 15-5. The Chargers move to 2-2 overall behind some outstanding offensive attack.

Chargers Handle Dean

How It Happened: The Chargers started the morning off with a bang including six runs in the first inning. After four consecutive walks,
Alyssa Hamilton and
Hannah Lieb scored.
Alyssa Paulson hit a single to left to bring home
Adalyn Steiner and
Phoebe Clemens. Then
Sarah Davies singled to right, scoring both Paulson and
Chloe King to give LBC a 6-0 lead early in the game. Dean responded with one of their own in the bottom of the inning, meanwhile
Chloe King stepped up in the second inning again to knock in Clemens off a single to left field to give the Chargers a 7-1 lead. Wrapping up the offensive game was Clemens in the fifth inning who singled to left, sending home Davies and advancing Hamilton to third.

By the Numbers:
- Clemens had an outstanding game, going 3-3 including two runs and an RBI.
- Paulson had a hit sending in two RBIs.
- Hamiton, Lieb, Steiner, Chloe King, and Davies all added hits of their own including a Hamilton double.
- Hamilton won her first game as a pitcher allowing only four hits and tallying three strikeouts.

How It Happened: The Chargers had a scoring outburst in the second game of the day, scoring 15 total runs over the course of the seven innings. The scoring began with a Steiner sacrifice fly sending Hamilton to home in the first, then Davies had a two RBI single and Hamilton an RBI single in the second inning giving the Chargers a 4-0 advantage. The Chargers proceeded to score five runs in the fourth including a huge three-run triple from
Chloe King, and four more runs in the sixth to give the Chargers a 15-5 win, the second of the day.

By the Numbers:
- Hannah Lieb and Chloe King both registered huge triples.
- Lieb went 3-4 including three RBIs and one walk.
- Chloe King had two hits for four RBIs.
- Lieb and Hamilton both added three RBIs.
- All nine starters for the Chargers registered at least one hit, including a game high three from both Sheyenne King and Hannah Lieb.
- Chloe King got the win on the mound for her first of the season.
