Lancaster Bible's women's lacrosse team lost a non-conference game on Wednesday night, April 12, to Bryn Athyn 16-5. The Chargers fall to 3-8 on the year and remain at 1-1 in the United East. Bryn Athyn improves to 6-2 overall and is 1-0 in the CSAC.
How It Happened: The Chargers started off with a highly competitive first quarter. After Bryn Athyn scored the opening goal,
Katelynn Perrotta and
Abby Donaldson each scored to give Lancaster Bible a 2-1 lead late in the first. Unfortunately, Maria Storck tied the game up for the Lions with a goal with just 18 seconds remaining. Bryn Athyn kept their momentum going into the second quarter as they went on to score four goals unanswered to gain a 6-2 lead halfway through the second. To end the first half, both teams traded a goal, and the Chargers were down 7-3 at halftime.
To open the second half, Kylie Scarpiello scored a goal for Bryn Athyn, but
Abby Donaldson answered for Lancaster Bible with her second goal of the game. However, the Lions kept rolling as they went on to score seven goals unanswered going into the final quarter. With ten minutes remaining,
Katelynn Perrotta scored her third goal of the game to bring the Chargers' deficit to 5-15. Bryn Athyn scored one more and beat Lancaster Bible 16-5.
