The Lancaster Bible College softball team traveled to Abington, Pa. to face the Lions in a United East Conference doubleheader, in which they fell 7-6 and 10-2. The Chargers fall to 7-19 overall and 3-13 in conference, while the Lions improve to 15-9 overall and 9-5 in the United East.

Game One, 7-6 Loss

How It Happened: The Chargers were the first to find the scoreboard as
Sheyenne King touched home after a Lions error. The Lions responded with one of their own to make it 1-1, then scored four more unanswered runs to make it a 5-1 deficit for the Chargers. However,
Amelia Huey sent a double down the left field line to score
Amanda Hoover,
Alyssa Paulson, and
Chloe King and bring the deficit to within one. The Lions scored one, but the Chargers returned the favor off a Hoover single that scored
Hannah Lieb in the bottom of the 6
th. Down 6-5, the Chargers found a game-tying run as
Alyssa Paulson scored off a throwdown from the catcher. Despite the tie, the Lions scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 6
th inning to win 7-6.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had 12 hits for six runs and four RBIs including four stolen bases… the Lions had nine hits for seven runs and six RBIs…
Phoebe Clemens went 3-4 while
Alyssa Paulson and
Amelia Huey both had two hits, including Huey grabbing three RBIs.
Game Two, 10-2 Loss

How It Happened: The Lions took the lead early, scoring two runs in the 1
st inning, but the Chargers bounced back in the 4
th inning as senior
Chloe King homered to left field, bringing in fellow senior
Hannah Lieb with her. Despite the King homer, the Lions went on to score eight unanswered runs to win 10-2.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had six hits for two runs and two RBIs including a King home run… the Lions had 15 hits for 10 runs and 10 RBIs…
Hannah Lieb went 2-2 while
Chloe King went 1-2 with two RBIs.
