The Lancaster Bible College Softball team hosted the Gallaudet Bison on Wednesday evening for a United East Conference doubleheader. The Chargers ended the evening splitting the contest, losing 7-2 in the first game but bouncing back to win 4-1 in the second game. The Chargers improve to 8-20 overall and 4-14 in conference play, while the Bison fall to 12-20 overall and 6-12 in conference.

Game One, 7-2 Loss

How It Happened: After two scoreless innings, the Bison scored the first two runs of the evening in the third inning, but the Chargers responded with one run in the bottom of the inning as junior

Sheyenne King off a single. The next inning, the Chargers'
Amelia Huey reached on an error that brought in
Chloe King to tie the game at 2-2. Despite the tie, the Bison's bats got hot, scoring five more runs through the 5
th inning to jump out to a 7-2 win.

By the Numbers: The Chargers recorded five hits for two runs and two RBIs… the Bison had 10 hits for seven runs and five RBIs…
Chloe King went 2-3 with one run and two doubles… Drolsbaugh went 3-4 for the Bison… Elsbury got the win on the mound for the Bison.
Game Two, 4-1 Win

How It Happened: The Bison scored their only run of the game early in the 2
nd inning as the Charger defense tightened up. The Chargers managed to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the 3
rd inning as
Sheyenne King hit a ball through middle, bringing in
Alyssa Hamilton. Tied at 1-1 and on the verge of entering extra innings, the Chargers' bats came up clutch, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 6
th inning to win the game. It started with Clemens who scored off a passed ball to give the Chargers their first lead of the evening.
Hannah Lieb stepped up, sending a single to right center and bringing in
Chloe King. Then,Â
Adalyn Steiner brought in the final run off a passed ball.

Alyssa Hamilton and

Noelle Martin got the win on the mound, allowing only one run and striking out three batters.
