Women's Tennis Slashes Lions

The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team traveled to Reading, Pa. on Tuesday afternoon to face off against United East foe Penn St. Berks, winning 6-3. The Chargers improve to 7-10 overall and 3-1 in conference, while the Lions drop to 1-10 and 1-4 in conference.
 
How It Happened: The Chargers got their first wins of the day from Jania Weist and Alycia Eglauer as they won 8-3, then Camryn Burkholder and Natalie Hoover followed suit, winning 8-4. The Lions got the win at the No. 1 slot for doubles as Sarah Steckbeck and Sierra Hartmann fell in extra points.
 
On the singles side, Weist picked up a 6-0, 6-0 sweep while Burkholder won 6-1, 6-1. Hoover also had a dominant game, winning 6-1, 6-0, and Steckbeck got the sixth win of the night on a 6-1, 6-3 match. Hartmann and Eglauer played in two tough matches, but ultimately fell.
 
Information to Know: The win over Berks helps secure the Chargers in the United East Conference Championships and will wait for their match with Penn St. Harrisburg and what happens with Penn St. Abington to see their seeding.
