The Lancaster Bible College Women's soccer team win their fifth straight game of the season, beating the Griffins 3-0 at home on Saturday, September 16. The Chargers jump to 5-0 overall, while the Griffins drop to 2-3 overall.
How It Happened:Â The Chargers started the first half on the offensive attack, sending several through balls that were not converted. Their scoreless attempts did not last long though, as freshman Isabella Eufemia was able to fire a shot, finding the top right of the Griffins' net and giving the Chargers the first goal of the half with 37:57 to play. This was Eufemia's third straight game with a goal.
After converting Eufemia's goal, the Chargers had no plans on slowing down, as they sent off shot after shot. Despite the Griffins goalies' best efforts, the Chargers' relentless attacks were too much to hold off, as senior Kendal Ream placed a goal in the top left corner off a great pass by teammate Alison Holl, taking the lead up to 2-0.
The Chargers continued to try to sneak in a couple more goals before the half ends, all coming up unsuccessful. The Chargers headed into the second half with a comfortable 2-0 lead, after a very good offensive showing in the first 45 minutes.
With a lead of 2-0, the Chargers started right where they left off in the second half, as they kept up the offensive pressure. Only 13 minutes into the half, Leah Perrault found herself with a perfect opportunity to hit Eufemia on the breakaway. Eufemia buried the shot in the center of the net, her second goal of the game, and the Chargers' third goal.
The Chargers played the rest of the game with the 3-0 lead, both teams staging multiple offensive threats, but there were no more goals scored in the second half. The Chargers sailed past the Griffins 3-0, for yet another shutout win.
By the Numbers: The Chargers dominated offensively with 11 shots on goal and 13 corners, compared to Griffins' 2 shots on goal and 1 corner... the Griffins tallied more saves with eight while Chargers ended with two... Eufemia had two goals and Ream added one of her own... Perrault and Holl both ended with an assist.
Information to Know: This is the first time in school history the Chargers have started 5-0... Ream has eight goals on the season... the Chargers have held all five of their opponents scoreless.
