Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Hunter Gerber

Women’s Soccer Blows by Penn St. Brandywine 8-0

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team traveled to United East Conference foe Penn St. Brandywine on Saturday afternoon for their last regular season game of the season winning 8-0 over the Lions. The Chargers finish the regular season 6-5-4 overall and 5-3 in conference while the Lions drop to 1-12-1 overall and 0-8 in conference.

How It Happened: The Chargers started early and kept it going as freshman Zoe Beers opened the game with her first goal of the game in the 12th minute. Just a few seconds later junior forward Janae Bergey tallied her first goal of the game to make it an early 2-0 lead for the Chargers. The Chargers saw four more goals go to the back of the net by the 45th minute as Bergey notched another, Isabella Eufemia scored two, and an own goal by the home team.

The second half wasn't any different as the Chargers continued to apply consistent pressure offensively. It was two new Chargers however that found the net in sophomore Leah Iman and junior Leah Perreault to bring their lead to 8-0 and win their final regular season contest.

From the Coach: "Great way to finish the regular season today scoring some nice goals," said Head Coach Jake Warren. "We're excited to start the next chapter as we enter postseason play!"

By the Numbers: The Chargers outshot the Lions 26-0… the Lions had nine saves while the Chargers had 11 corner kicks… Bergey and Eufemia added two goals… Perreault, Iman, and Beers added one goal each.

Up Next: The Chargers will play this Tuesday, October 29 in the first round of the United East playoffs. The location and time are still to be determined.
