The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team defeated the Rosemont Ravens 5-0 on Tuesday night in the first round of the United East Conference Playoffs. The Chargers were led by freshman
Zoe Beers and junior
Janae Bergey who had two goals apiece,
Isabella Eufemia chipped in one goal. The Chargers improve to 7-5-4 overall while the Ravens end their season 6-11 overall and 4-6 in conference.
How It Happened: Both teams opened play with offensive attacks, but it was the Chargers who found the net first as freshman
Zoe Beers scored in the 11
th minute on an assist from
Isabella Eufemia. The two teams continued to trade possessions and scoring opportunities, but the Chargers found two more goals just before the half as Eufemia netted one and Beers netted a career high second goal. The Chargers headed to halftime with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The Chargers found back to back goals from Bergey in the 59
th and 63
rd minute to grow the lead to 5-0 as the team went on to win 5-0 and advance to the United East Quarterfinals this Saturday.
By the Numbers: The Chargers outshot the Ravens 24-8 and tallied two corner kicks… the Ravens had four saves to the Chargers two… Beers and Bergey had two goals each… Eufemia, Beers, Bergey, and
Leah Perreault all had an assist.
