Women’s Basketball Rush to Second Straight Victory

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team picked up their second straight win in two days this weekend over Trinity Washington 69-38. The Chargers improve to 2-1 overall while the Tigers drop to 0-4 overall.

How It Happened: The Chargers and Tigers traded the lead several times to start the game before a three-pointer from Jenna Dombach at 3:07 left in the first period brought the Chargers' lead to 12-4. The Chargers ended the first period of play holding the Tigers to just eight points while a layup from Rachel Nolt extended the Chargers' points to 16. The Chargers pushed their lead to as much as 16 points in the second period as Dombach got another layup to go, making it 26-10. Two free throws from Nolt ended the half with the Chargers' biggest lead at 36-19.

Despite a tough shooting night, the Chargers crashed the offensive glass and found their points in transition in the second half, leading to a 69-38 win. The Chargers were able to get production from several contributors including double-figures from Nolt, Dombach, Calderon, and Araniva.  

By the Numbers: The Chargers shot 38-percent (30-78) from the field and 11-percent (2-18) from three… the Tigers were 25-percent (15-58) from the field and 14-percent (2-14) from three… the Chargers scored 52 points in the paint and tallied 24 offensive rebounds… Nolt had a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds… Dombach added 16 points and nine rebounds… Serene Calderon and Keilani Araniva had 12 points apiece…Shayonna Nave scored a team-high 18 points for the Tigers.

Up Next: The Chargers will return to the Horst Athletic Center this Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. hosting Haverford.
