The Lancaster Bible College Softball team took two games from the Cairn Highlanders in their home debut on Thursday evening. How It Happened: Little did the Chargers know that a two-RBI triple from Alyssa Paulson in the bottom of the first inning would be the winning runs for game one. Paulson brought in teammates Phoebe Clemens and Alyssa Hamilton. From there, it was all pitcher Noelle Martin and the Chargers defense. Martin allowed only five hits in seven innings pitched while striking out four batters and walking one. The Chargers held the Highlanders scoreless for their first shutout of the season.

Game Two, 4-0 Win

How It Happened: Using the momentum from game one, the Chargers earned their second win of the day thanks to an early start. Amanda Hoover and Mecke scored off a ball put in play by Anna Rinaldi which turned into an error and two runs on the board. In the next inning, Riley Danko doubled to left field, bringing in Clemens for her second score of the day and Paulson followed it up with a double to center field, bringing in Danko. Hamilton and the Charger defense took the reins from there, allowing only six hits and striking out two batters.
