The Lancaster Bible College Softball team took on day two in Myrtle Beach, S.C. by taking on Malone and Penn St. Mont Alto, dropping game one 8-0 and winning game two 9-6. The Chargers are now 2-2 overall with four games left to play on their Spring Break trip.

Game 1: vs Malone (0-8 Loss)

How it Happened:Â Alyssa Hamilton reached base on a hit-by-pitch to lead off the game, but couldn't come around to score. The Pioneers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning off a two-out rally.
Alyssa Paulson knocked a single in the top of the second inning, but the Malone's Grace Kissick struck out the side to end any threat from the Chargers.
Malone launched an offensive barrage in the third inning with six runs off six hits. The Chargers had no response in the fourth as they went 1-2-3, then
Riley Danko was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning and reached scoring position, but she was unable to score as the Pioneers took the game 8-0 in five.

By the Numbers:
- The Chargers were held scoreless with just one hit, totaling three base runners on the day
- The Pioneers tallied eight runs on 10 hits with two extra-base hits and eight RBIs

Game 2: vs Penn St. Mont Alto (6-9 Loss)

How it Happened:Â Both teams went three-up, three-down in the first two innings before the Lions struck in the third with five runs to take the lead. The Chargers had an answer in the bottom of the inning, starting with a two-RBI single from
Amanda Hoover to get LBC on the board. With the bases loaded later in the inning,
KariAnn Mecke broke through with a double to score
Phoebe Clemens and
Sheyenne King, making it a one-run game at 5-4.

Mont Alto slowly added to their lead with one run in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth. The Chargers found the board in the bottom of the sixth inning as
Anna Rinaldi hit a double, then
Riley Danko hit a single to score Rinaldi to make it 9-5. LBC made one last effort in the seventh inning as Mecke had a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, but the Chargers ultimately fell 9-6.
