The Lancaster Bible College Softball team traveled to Penn College in a United East doubleheader, but dropped both games with the first holding a score of 8-0 and the second 10-2, both in five innings. The Chargers are now 13-20 overall with a conference record of 5-11 but recently clinched a playoff spot. The Wildcats improved to 22-8 and 12-4 in the United East.

Game 1, 8-0 Loss (5 Innings)
How It Happened:Â The Chargers struggled to gain their footing early, and in the first inning, after failing to post a run, the Wildcats took advantage and nabbed a quick 3-0 lead. While Lancaster Bible had a quick three outs at the top of the inning, they were able to stand firm and hold Penn College runless in the second. In the third inning, the Chargers failed to get a hit again, but following a Penn College run,
Phoebe Clemens,
KariAnn Mecke, and
Carleigh Cleland connected on a double play in response. Unfortunately, the Wildcats squeezed out two more runs to close the inning, making it a six-run deficit for the Chargers.
Noelle Martin started the fourth inning on a high note with a single, but no one else could get on base. The Wildcats closed the game out in the fifth inning by adding two more runs, and the Chargers fell 8-0 in five innings played.

Game 2, 10-2 Loss (5 Innings)
How It Happened:Â Things started much brighter for the Chargers in the second game with reigning United East Softball Player of the Week
Phoebe Clemens getting a hit early. However, it led to no runs, and Penn followed with two scores in the first inning.
Alyssa Hamilton responded with a massive two-run homer to tie the game up after two innings. The Chargers couldn't get a hit in the third, but luckily,
Riley Danko kept the Wildcats hitless as well. Things got out of reach quickly, and Penn College put up eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take down Lancaster Bible 10-2 in their second game.
