Men’s Soccer 2024 Campaign Released

Lancaster Bible College Athletics and the Men's Soccer program has released its 2024 schedule in anticipation of the upcoming season. After a strong finish to the 2023 season, the Chargers will look to carry the momentum into the upcoming season as they contend for the United East Championship. The Chargers open hosting Franklin & Marshall on Friday, August 30 under the lights of Donald H. Funk Field at the Willis & Martha Herr Stadium.

Season in Review: Despite a rigorous schedule and slow start, the Chargers finished 9-9-2 overall and 4-2 in the United East finishing third overall in the conference courtesy of a strong second half of the season. In their last 12 games of the season, the Chargers won seven games and tied two more. The last 12 games featured wins over Cairn, St. Mary's (Md.), Penn College, a tie with nationally ranked Lebanon Valley, and a first round playoff win over Penn St. Berks.

The Chargers fell in the United East Volt Division Semifinal to two-seed Penn St. Harrisburg 2-3. Three student-athletes earned All-Conference First Team in senior Sam Glock and sophomores Ben Nolt and Andrew Cox. Cox and Nolt led the team with goals and points combining for 26 total goals while junior Devyn Kintzer added five assists.

A Look Ahead: The 2024 slate features 16 games, seven of which are conference games and two against nationally ranked teams in the 2023 season. The Chargers begin by hosting F&M on August 30 before traveling to Alvernia on September 4 for their first away game of the season.

Non-conference opponents include York (Pa.) on September 14, Neumann on September 18, Albright on September 24, and Messiah on October 10. The Chargers open conference play on Saturday, September 28 against Penn St. Berks to celebrate homecoming. They then host Cairn on October 2 before traveling to St. Mary's (Md.). The Chargers round out the season with four straight conference games, three of which are on the road at Wilson (Oct. 12), Penn St. Abington (Oct. 16), and Penn St. Brandywine (Oct. 25).

A quick note, due to the closure of Clarks Summit two additional games are to be announced.

Coach Tommy Ardt, heading into his 14th season at the helm, is excited about what's to come for the 2024 season, "We are very excited about what's ahead for this group and the balance within the schedule playing a few nationally ranked teams and strong regional competition. We feel the schedule will be essential in equipping us for postseason play. The conference growing to 16 teams will also be a new challenge as the change of landscape adds some unfamiliar opponents and new environments."
