The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team went on the road Saturday afternoon and earned a dominant 7-0 victory at Valley Forge, earning a spot in the United East postseason. The Chargers improve to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in conference while the Patriots fall to 4-9 overall and 1-5 in conference.
How it Happened:
It took just three minutes for senior
Janae Bergey to find the back of the net for the Chargers as she put a high shot over the goalie off a pass from sophomore
Zoe Beers to give LBC an early lead. The Chargers then earned three corner kicks with seven total shots in the next 12 minutes, with shots from Bergey and senior
Leah Perreault going on goal for saves. Just past the 15-minute mark, the Chargers drew a foul in the box for a penalty kick, with Bergey lining up and firing a shot good for her second goal of the game. Lancaster Bible kept the shots firing as they had five more before Bergey struck once again, this time off a pass from junior
Brooke Graham as she netted the third goal of the game, and after three more LBC corner kicks the half ended with a three-goal cushion for the Chargers.
While Bergey was done scoring for the day, the Chargers were far from finished as they scored in the 52nd minute with graduate student
Jade Weir netting a goal off an assist from Beers, her first goal since the 2022 season as the Chargers took a 4-0 lead. After two assists, Beers connected on a score of her own later in the half with Bergey on the assisting end, the Chargers' fifth goal of the day. In the final three minutes of the game, Lancaster Bible exploded for two more as both junior
Amelia DePaul and freshman
Amelia Culp notched goals, with Perreault assisting DePaul and Culp registering her first career goal, ending the game in a 7-0 Charger victory and locking up a postseason spot.
