Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Mark Rowles

Women’s Soccer Falls at Wildcats to End Regular Season

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team traveled to Williamsport, Pa. to face Penn College in United East play for their final regular season game, falling on the road 4-1. The Chargers finish at 10-6 overall and 5-3 in conference while the Wildcats move to 13-2-2 overall and 6-1 in conference.

How it Happened:
The Wildcats got on the board early as they scored in the fourth minute for a 1-0 lead, and graduate student Jade Weir had the Chargers' first shot of the game on goal ten minutes later to force a save. Sophomore Zoe Beers had a pair off shots that were close with one off the crossbar, then soon after Penn College struck again in the 18th minute to take a commanding 2-0 first half lead. A little later, Beers gathered a loose ball and fired a great shot to the upper-right corner, draining it for the Chargers' first goal of the game and cutting the lead to 2-1 at the 27-minute mark. The Wildcats didn't let them settle, however, as they scored 100 seconds later to get the lead right back to two. Junior Isabella Eufemia had a shot on goal late in the half, but no score as the Chargers trailed 3-1 at the half.

Eufemia had another shot on goal ten minutes into the second half that was saved, then Beers had another shot but missed wide. After earning a corner kick, the Wildcats converted on another score for a three-goal lead in the 68th minute, making it a substantial lead. Senior Janae Bergey got a shot off to force a Penn College save and the Chargers got a corner kick with 12 minutes left, but they could not power back and fell 4-1 on the road to conclude the regular season.
