The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team traveled to Madison, N.J. on Saturday for a non-conference tri-match with Susquehanna and host Drew, winning both matches by scores of 3-1 and 3-0. The Chargers improve to 15-9 overall and 7-1 in the United East while the River Hawks fall to 8-18 overall and 4-3 in the Landmark and the Rangers move to 7-19 overall and 2-5 in the Landmark.

How it Happened:
Junior
Lea Sareyka had two kills early on for a Chargers lead, then the River Hawks powered back to take a 6-5 advantage. The Chargers answered with six straight points, including a kill and a block from sophomore
Madison Reap to lead 11-6. The set remained close as the teams traded leads, with Susquehanna leading 19-17 late. After tying the set at 20-20 with a kill by junior
Jessica Fletcher, the Chargers won the final five points of the set to take it 25-21.

The teams alternated the first nine points before the Chargers rattled off four points in a row behind a kill and a service ace by junior
Madeline Reed, then they won six of seven points behind two kills and a block by senior
Riley Dodrer to lead 14-8. Freshman
Ashby Brummer had a solo block to extend the lead to eight, then like the first set, the Chargers won the final five points, ending with back-to-back kills from junior
Eden Belford as they went up 2-0 with a 25-15 set win.

Belford and Dodrer had kills in set three for a 4-0 Charger lead, with Dodrer getting a kill for LBC's largest lead of the set at 11-6. Susquehanna battled back in the set with a five-point run to tie it up at 13, then they surged ahead to take a 17-16 lead. The Chargers battled for the lead with three kills from Reap late, but the River Hawks earned the final three points to steal set three 25-23 and force another.

The Chargers had a six-point run early in set four to take control with three total blocks by Dodrer on the run, taking a 9-5 lead. Before Susquehanna could come even, the Chargers ran away with it with a seven-point spurt, seeing kills from Sareyka, Belford, and a service ace by senior
Madison Timberlake for a 19-10 advantage. The River Hawks had four in a row late to rally, but three points in a row from the Chargers closed out Susquehanna 25-16 for a 3-1 victory and the Chargers' second win of the season over the River Hawks.

Drew began with the lead in set one as high as four points at 9-5, then the Chargers began to chip away with kills from several different players. Lancaster Bible exploded with a six-point run later in the set with back-to-back service aces from junior
Tessa Kwiatkowski fueling the run for an 18-15 Charger lead. The Chargers ended the set with another run of six points including a solo block by
Madison Reap to help close out set one 25-19.

Lea Sareyka early in set two got the Chargers out to an 8-2 lead, then they won nine of ten points to get out to their largest lead of the day of 13 at 17-4. The Rangers battled throughout the middle of the set, but kills by
Jessica Fletcher and Reap helped close out the set 25-17 for a 2-0 Charger lead in the match.

Sareyka had two kills to open set three, then Drew got ahead with some small leads before
Ashby Brummer capped a three-point burst to get an 11-9 lead. The Rangers kept on the gas, racing out front and grabbing a 22-15 lead after winning eight of ten points late in the set. Facing a steep deficit, the Chargers absolutely dominated from there, winning 10 consecutive points to finish out the set with two aces by Reap and two kills by both Sareyka and
Eden Belford to storm back and take the set 25-22 and close out the sweep of the Rangers.

The Chargers are 2-1 all-time against Susquehanna with two wins against them this season and played Drew for the first time ever today. The Chargers have a nine-game active winning streak, their longest since 2022 and tying the second-longest in program history (12, 1996).
Tessa Kwiatkowski passed 500 career assists tonight with 17.
