Â
How it Happened:
Senior
Raven Hunter had a pair of buckets early on as the Chargers led, then the Lightning swung in front 9-5 about three minutes in. Freshman
Emma Christner got LBC back in front on a layup, but Lehman went on an 11-3 run to end the quarter as the Lightning led by seven after ten minutes. It was Lehman that surged ahead in the second as they grabbed their largest lead of the game at 14 points, but the Chargers came right back as they went on a 13-2 scoring run with made 3-pointers from sophomore
Shania Stoltzfus and freshman
Emily Wilson, cutting the lead to three. Stoltzfus hit another three to make it a one-point game, but the Lightning held onto a 36-31 lead heading into halftime.
Â
Wilson began the third quarter with a layup, then just over halfway through the period junior
Rachel Nolt tied the game at 42 with a score. After Nolt tied it again on a jumper, Wilson made a pair of free throws to give LBC their first lead of the second half at 46-44. Good free throw shooting from Wilson helped the Chargers carry a 50-48 lead into the final quarter. Nolt scored on the opening possession of the fourth for LBC's largest lead at four points, but the Lightning struck for 10 straight points to take the lead back late in the game. Down by 10, the Chargers chipped away as Nolt drained a three and Hunter had a made layup to cut it to three, but Lehman held on for an eight-point win to down the Chargers.
