The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team traveled to Winchester, Va. on Tuesday evening to take on Shenandoah in non-conference action, suffering their first loss of the season by a score of 80-74. The Chargers drop to 4-1 overall while the Hornets improve to 6-0 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers started out up 4-0 as juniors
Camden Hurst and
Connor Storr had a jumper and a dunk respectively, then the Hornets scored the next six points before junior
Daniel King scored for a 6-6 tie. Shenandoah then went on a 9-0 run to take a big lead before senior
Tyshaun Pulley hit a pullup jumper, but the Hornets were up 20-8 after seven minutes of play. Storr and Hurst each had buckets, but the Chargers continued to trail by double-digits as the Hornets kept pace. Shenandoah had their largest lead of the half at 19 points at 43-24, then Hurst had several baskets to end their run. Storr and sophomore
Bennett Bowers each had layups down the stretch, but the Chargers entered halftime trailing by 15 at 49-34.

Lancaster Bible had the first six points of the second half as senior
Nile Austin, Hurst, and freshman
Jacob Lewis scored to cut the lead to nine. Shenandoah pushed the lead back to 13 points, but the Chargers continued to cut down the deficit, getting within seven points after a bucket by junior
Marco Cabezas, making it 55-48. The Hornets tried to kept LBC at arm's length, but five points by Hurst including a made 3-pointer and a layup got it back to seven. Pulley had a layup to cut it to five at 67-62, then senior
Luke Rumbaugh had a pair of free throws to keep it close. Down seven with under four minutes to play, King got a layup to go to make it a five-point game, but the Hornets had enough left in the tank to close it out as they hit key free throws down the stretch to hang on 80-74 and hand LBC their first loss of the season.

- The Chargers shot 40-percent from the floor, 71-percent on free throws, but just 14-percent from 3-point range

Information to Know:
The Chargers are now 0-2 against Shenandoah all-time with their only other matchup coming in 2023 in Lancaster, Pa. This ends the Chargers' best start to the season since 2015-16 with a 4-0 start to the year, still yet to play any United East games and dropping to a Shenandoah team that remains unbeaten on the year at 6-0 overall.
