The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team played their final game before Christmas on Wednesday evening as they raced to a 90-62 victory over Lebanon Valley on the road. The Chargers improve to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the United East while the Flying Dutchmen drop to 2-6 overall.
 
How it Happened:
The Chargers began the game on a 7-0 run as senior Nile Austin opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, seeing another three go down a few minutes later by senior Reaves Hooks for a 10-6 lead. Then it was junior Camden Hurst who added four points of his own on an eight-point LBC run to lead by nine points about nine minutes into the game. Sophomore Bennett Bowers extended the lead to double-digits with a jumper, then Austin hit a three and junior Connor Storr scored in the paint to make it a 13-point lead. The Chargers kept up the pace as Hurst added two more buckets and Storr threw down a dunk, maintaining the pace as they carried a lead of a dozen into halftime up 46-34.
 
Lebanon Valley opened the second half with a quick eight-point run to slice the lead to just six points, but Storr ended that run with an and-one layup for the three-point play, sparking a huge response from the Chargers as they scored 13 straight points to blow the deficit up to 19. Junior Daniel King made a layup for the Chargers' first 20-point lead of the game at 65-45, then Hurst hit a three to get LBC over 70 points. Seniors Tyshaun Pulley and Mark Heidebrecht got involved down the stretch with scores, then Bowers and freshman Jacob Lewis each hit 3-pointers late in the game as the Chargers cruised to a huge road victory over the Dutchmen.
 
By the Numbers:
- The Chargers shot 49-percent from the floor, 39-percent from 3-point range, and shot a season-high 81-percent from the free throw line
- The Dutchmen shot 47-percent from the floor, 50-percent from three, and 70-percent on free throws
- The Chargers had 25 points off turnovers to the Dutchmen's nine and forced a season-high 31 turnovers with a +20 margin
- Camden Hurst led the Chargers with a game-high 23 points
- Connor Storr had 15 points with seven rebounds and three steals
- Tyshaun Pulley led all players with four assists
- The Dutchmen were led by Jason Penn with a team-high 21 points and four made threes

Information to Know:
The Chargers have their first win over Lebanon Valley in program history after losing the first three, including an overtime thriller last season where Lebanon Valley won 87-84. The Chargers have matched their best 10-game start (8-2) since the 2020-21 season and have eight wins before January for the first time since the 2017-18 season where they went 8-3 before the New Year and won the NEAC Championship that year.
