Men’s Basketball Downs Bulldogs at Home

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Basketball team played their first game of December at home on Wednesday night as they hosted DeSales, racing to a 94-79 victory to remain unbeaten at home this season. The Chargers improve to 5-1 overall while the Bulldogs drop to 3-4 overall.

How it Happened:
After the defense forced a turnover on the opening possession, junior Camden Hurst scored the first four points for the Chargers to get them out in front. Junior Daniel King connected on a layup for a 6-2 lead, then DeSales got five in a row to take a 7-6 lead. After the Bulldogs went up three, the Chargers saw back-to-back 3-pointers from seniors Reaves Hooks and Tyshaun Pulley go down to flip the lead to three for them at 14-11. DeSales got even again at 17, but the Chargers launched a nine-point run with five points from junior Connor Storr to create some breathing room. The lead got up to 15 for Lancaster Bible in the first half after Hooks, Hurst, and Storr combined for six straight points later in the half, taking a 14-point advantage into the halftime break up 47-33.

In the blink of an eye, the Chargers' lead was 20 points in the second half as they opened on a 6-0 run with four points from Storr and a pair of free throws by sophomore Bennett Bowers. DeSales responded with seven of their own to get it down to 13, then senior Nile Austin knocked down a three to end the run. Freshman Jacob Lewis scored the next five for the Chargers on a 3-pointer and a fast-break layup, then King and Storr added scores to keep the lead in double-digits. The Chargers led by as many as 21 points as they held steady for the 15-point home victory and their fifth win of the season.

By the Numbers:
- The Chargers shot a season-high 54-percent from the floor, 36-percent from 3-point range, and shot 67-percent from the free throw line
- The Bulldogs shot 44-percent from the floor, 37-percent from three, and 76-percent on free throws
- Connor Storr led the Chargers with a season-high 26 points, adding four steals and three blocks
