The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team traveled to Buena Vista, Va. for Saturday's morning's contest with the #1-ranked Southern Virginia Knights, falling in straight sets. The Chargers fall to 6-3 overall while the Knights stay unbeaten at 6-0 overall.
How it Happened:
The Knights took the lead early at 4-1, but sophomore
Jordan Yoder landed a kill and then another to spark a three-point run for the Chargers to tie set one at 6-6. Another kill from Yoder kept it within two, but the Knights ripped off four in a row to take control of the set, then launched a 7-0 run to put the Chargers away 25-14 to roll in set one.
Junior
Nicholas Marion started set two with a kill, then Yoder combined with sophomore
Kevin Bryant on a block to put LBC up 2-0. The teams traded points back and forth until the Knights scored four in a row to go up 10-6. Bryant and sophomore
Jaiden Flanagan landed kills throughout the set, but the Knights scored in bunches as they held on to win set two 25-17.
Set three started close as Marion knocked a kill and sophomore
Zeke Clark landed a service ace to give LBC a 3-2 lead. As in previous sets, however, Southern Virginia went on a prolonged run as they scored eight in a row and 11 of the next 12 points to built a nine-point lead. Flanagan and Yoder landed a block to cut the lead to six, but the Knights controlled down the stretch and finished the set with an ace to win 25-15 and sweep the Chargers.
By the Numbers:
- The Knights led in every category, primarily in kills 35-22 and aces 6-3, but the Chargers landed five blocks and the Knights six

Information to Know:
The Chargers are now 2-9 all-time against Southern Virginia, losing the last eight against the Knights and failing to take a set from them since 2022.
