The Lancaster Bible College Softball team walked away with two wins versus the Cairn Highlanders on Tuesday afternoon. The Chargers took game one, 8-2, and game two, 10-2. The Chargers improve to 10-6 overall while the Highlanders drop to 2-9 overall.
Game One, 8-2 Win
Cairn scored the first run to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1
st inning but the Chargers quickly stormed back to take a 4-1 lead after the bottom of the inning. The Chargers went on to make several key plays from the batters box including a double from
Amanda Hoover that added four more runs through four innings of play. The Chargers went on to win 8-2.
By the Numbers
- The Chargers had seven hits for eight runs and seven runs batted in.
- The Highlanders had four hits for two runs and one run batted in.
- KariAnn Mecke and Phoebe Clemens both went 2-3 from the plate.
- Maggie Kwiatkowski added a hit, two runs batted in, and one run.
- Maddison Atkins picked up her fourth win on the mound pitching the full seven innings giving up just four hits and striking out eight batters.
Game Two, 10-2 Win
The Highlanders again took a 1-0 lead to start the game, but the Chargers managed to score two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. The Highlanders tied the game at 2-2 before the Chargers got the bats going in the 3
rd inning. Amanda Huey started the inning with a double to left field to score
Maggie Kwiatkowski. Mecke stepped up with a single to centerfield scoring Huey while Atkin shot a triple to left center to score Meck bringing the Chargers lead to 5-2.
The Chargers doubled their score in the 5
th inning including a two run single from
Alyssa Taylor and a double to centerfield from Mecke that ended the game.

- The Chargers had 15 hits for 10 runs and six runs batted in.
- The Highlanders had four hits for two runs and one run batted in.
- Kwiatkowski went 3-4 with three runs.
- Mecke went 3-4 with two runs and two runs batted in.
- Kylee Cole, Amelia Huey, and Maddison Atkins all had two hits each.
- Riley Danko picked up her fifth win on the mound striking out five batters.
