The United East Conference announced their major award winners and All-Conference teams for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday with the Chargers receiving three honorees. Graduate student
Grant Sareyka was named to the All-Conference First Team, sophomore
Camden Hurst earned All-Conference Second Team in his first season with the Chargers, and sophomore
Connor Storr earned his second career nod landing on the All-Conference Third Team.
Sareyka had another outstanding year totaling a team best 18.3 points per game while shooting 46-percent from the floor. The graduate student had an impact other places as well grabbing 2.7 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists per game, and a team best two steals per game. Program wise, Sareyka cemented himself as one of the best surpassing 2,000 career points on February 22 and becoming the all-time steals leader with 259 career steals. In conference, Sareyka finished third in scoring, eighth in field goal percentage, and fifth in steals per game. This is Sareyka's third All-Coference First Team selection and his fourth postseason honor of his career.
In his first season with the Chargers, Hurst produced and efficient season pouring in 17.5 points per game on 52-percent from the floor and 42-percent from three. Hurst also averaged three rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game, and 1.3 steals per game. In conference, Hurst top ten in scoring, field goal percentage, three point percentage, and free throw percentage.
Coming off a stellar rookie campaign, Storr averaged 13.3 points per game on 50-percent from the floor. Despite missing significant time due to illness, Storr was able to grab 5.7 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, and 1.9 steals per game. He finished top ten in both field goal percentage, blocked shots, and steals for the conference. This is Storr's second All-Conference nod.
The Chargers are currently 18-8 overall and finished conference play 13-3. Earning the three-seed in the United East playoffs, the Chargers lost to six-seed Notre Dame (Md) in the United East Quarterfinals. They will be playing in the NCCAA DI Mid-East Regional Championship beginning with Alice Lloyd on Thursday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Isaiah Eggleston (Penn St. Harrisburg) won Player of the Year, Yassine Idrissa (St. Mary's) won Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, and Sean Westerlund (Bryn Athyn) won Coach of the Year.
