The Lancaster Bible College Softball team fell in a pair of United East games to Penn College by scores of 7-2 and 9-1 on Monday evening. The Chargers fall to 11-14 overall and 1-6 in conference while the Wildcats improve to 21-10 overall and 7-3 in conference.
Game 1: 2-7 Loss
How it Happened:
The first six Charger batters were retired and the Wildcats opened up the scoring with a first-inning run, adding another in the second to grab a 2-0 lead. Freshman
Ila Rowatti broke the streak with a leadoff double in the third inning, with graduate student
Phoebe Clemens later driving her in on a RBI-triple, her record-setting eighth of the season, to get the Chargers on the board. The Wildcats added two more runs in the fourth inning to send the game to five at a 4-1 Penn College lead.
The Chargers worked out of a jam on defense in the fifth inning, then freshman
Maggie Kwiatkowski stole a pair of bases in the sixth to try and spark a rally. Penn College pulled away in the bottom of the sixth with three more runs to go up by six, but the Chargers weren't done as senior
Kylee Cole scored on an error to make it 7-2. The Chargers would fall by that score as the rally ended.
By the Numbers:
- The Chargers had two runs on four hits and no errors, while the Wildcats scored seven runs on 13 hits with one error

Information to Know:
Phoebe Clemens knocked her eighth triple of the season, setting a new single-season program record for triples in the process. Clemens broke her own record of seven triples set in both 2022 and 2024, bringing her to 21 career three-baggers and tying her for the United East lead with Katelyn Keller of Wilson.
Game 2: 1-9 Loss (5 inn.)
How it Happened:
Both
Maggie Kwiatkowski and
Phoebe Clemens stole bases in the first, but three strikeouts ended the scoring chance. The Wildcats jumped on the scoreboard in their first frame with a seven-run inning, sending 11 batters to the plate with four hits and two Charger errors. The Charger defense held Penn College off the board for the next three innings, finding a run in the third inning as Kwiatkowski hit a single that scored freshman
Keira Price. This was the only run for Lancaster Bible as the Wildcats finished the game in the fifth with two runs to win 9-1.
By the Numbers:
- The Chargers scored just one run on four hits and committed three errors, while the Wildcats scored nine runs on only five hits with one error
