Men’s Volleyball Set for NCAA Division III National Tournament

The Lancaster Bible College Men's will be paying a visit to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the second straight year after winning the 2025 United East Championship this past Saturday over Wilson. The Chargers will be traveling to host Southern Virginia to play a familiar foe in No. 8 Messiah on Friday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Season in Review: The Chargers are 23-7 overall and finished a perfect 8-0 in conference play never losing a set. A traditionally difficult non-conference schedule has sharpened the Chargers for in preparation for this weekend as they played four ranked opponents and several other strong programs in the region.

Key Players: They are led by a strong core of returners including First Team All-Conference and championship Most Valuable Player Jordan Yoder who has racked up 268 kills and 41 service aces this season. Fellow First Team member Dawson Forney has also tallied 265 kills with 28 service aces and 46 blocks. Tyler Martin has also returned as a key contributor landing on the First Team All-Conference with Yoder and Forney. Martin has dished out 559 assists averaging 5.59 assists per set while picking up 203 digs and 16 blocks. The Chargers have also seen a significant contribution from Nicholas Marion, Jaiden Flanagan, Kevin Bryant, and Carson Hoover among others.

Past Matchup: The Chargers traveled to Grantham, Pa. to play the #11 ranked Messiah on February 4 of this year. The Chargers fell in three sets: 25-20, 25-13, 25-20. Despite the three set finish, the stats were quite comparable in the match with the Chargers only behind a few tallies in each category. The key difference however was the hitting percentage as the Falcons finished with a .400 hitting percentage compared to the Chargers .155. Alex Kagoro led all hitters with 11 kills while Kevin Bryant finished with a team high eight. Historically, the Falcons have the upper hand winning the past five matchups with the Chargers last win coming on February 5, 2019.
