The Lancaster Bible College Softball team ended their losing skid on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Keystone twice on the road by scores of 5-2 and 13-3. The Chargers improve to 13-18 overall and 3-10 in United East play while the Giants fall to 5-20 overall and 3-11 in conference.
Game 1: 5-2 Win
How it Happened:
It was the Giants who scored first in the second inning to take the lead, but the Chargers had an answer in the third inning on offense. Freshman
Keira Price bunted for a single and senior
Kylee Cole singled as well, then Cole stole second to put two runners in scoring position for freshman
Maggie Kwiatkowski, who knocked a two-run single through the right side to put the Chargers up 2-1.
Both offenses stalled for the next two innings as they combined for just one hit in the fourth and fifth innings. After putting runners on the corners in the sixth inning, junior
Maddison Atkins hit a single down the left field line that allowed both runners to score, boosting the lead to 4-1. Then, Price reached on an error that scored Atkins to put the Chargers up four. Keystone threatened in the seventh inning with a one-out run, but the Chargers closed out the 5-2 victory to wrap game one.

- The Chargers had five runs on eight hits and no errors, while the Giants had two runs on five hits and committed three errors

Game 2: 13-3 Win (5 inn.)
How it Happened:
Maggie Kwiatkowski began the game with a leadoff home run to center field, the first of her career and immediately putting LBC in front. The Chargers kept it going as
Kylee Cole hit a RBI-single to drive in a run, then freshman
Ila Rowatti reached on an error that scored Cole to put the Chargers up three. The offensive barrage continued as
Riley Danko hit a RBI-single and another Giant error allowed Rowatti and Danko to score, helping the Chargers to a big 6-0 lead after just one inning.
The Chargers added on throughout the game as they plated one in the second inning on a single by sophomore
Carleigh Cleland. Then, Kwiatkowski connected on a RBI-single to score
Maddison Atkins in the third inning for an 8-0 Charger lead. Keystone found a run in the bottom frame after two hits, then the Chargers answered right back with another big frame of four runs, all coming on one swing as Danko crushed a grand slam to center field to bolster the lead to 12-1 Lancaster Bible. Keystone plated two runs in the fourth before the Chargers added one more in the fifth as Kwiatkowski knocked her second home run of the game, helping seal the deal 13-3 in just five innings.
