The Lancaster Bible College Softball team resumed their halted game against the Notre Dame (Md) Gators from April 2 on Thursday afternoon cruising to a 7-3 win. The Chargers improve to 14-18 overall and 4-10 in the United East. The Gators dropped to 9-15 overall and 9-6 in conference play.
How It Happened: Beginning with a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning, the Chargers were able to keep their momentum from April 2, posting a run early as a walk from
Maggie Kwiatkowski brought home
Ila Rowatti. Neither team was able to bring a run across home plate in the fourth and fifth inning.
A solid showing in the sixth inning gave the Chargers the much needed 7-3 cushion.
Kylee Cole got things rolling with a RBI-single to right field scoring
Maddison Atkins.
Riley Danko sent a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in
Phoebe Clemens and a steal from Cole scored the Chargers' third run. The Gators looked to make one last run, scoring two runs in the seventh inning, but the Chargers were able to secure a 7-3 win.
