LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster Bible College is pleased to announce the appointment of
Bryan Curtis as the new Director of Athletics. Curtis joins LBC from Dallas, Texas, where he served as the Associate Director of Athletics at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) for the past six years. He will succeed long-time Athletic Director Pete Beers, who departed at the end of December.
"I'm delighted to welcome
Bryan Curtis to LBC," stated President Tommy Kiedis. "His leadership will build on the strengths of our Athletic Department as we prepare students to flourish in college and life, inside and outside the classroom, from the conviction that Christ is real and the Bible is true."
During his tenure at DBU, Curtis oversaw the day-to-day operations of the athletic department, including budget management, business operations, event and facility management, ticketing, and corporate sponsorships. He also acted as the sport administrator for Volleyball, Basketball, Men's and Women's Tennis, and DBU's club sports.
Prior to his time at DBU, Curtis spent ten years as the Assistant Director of Athletics – Event Operations and Facilities at Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. There, he managed student recreation and intramurals, supervised the campus fitness center, and played a key role in launching multiple sports programs. He also served as Chairman of the Wellness Committee, where he initiated several campus-wide wellness programs.
"I'd like to thank Dr. Kiedis and Jael Chambers for the opportunity to lead LBC Athletics," Curtis said. "Lancaster Bible College is a special place, and I look forward to working with everyone to make kingdom impacts through Christ-centered athletics. My family and I are excited to get to campus and begin building relationships with students, coaches, staff, and the rest of the Charger family!"
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Curtis graduated from Clearwater Christian College in 2008 with a degree in Business Administration. He went on to earn a master's degree in Sport Management from Missouri Baptist University in 2010.
Curtis, his wife Ashley, and their three children—Blake, Zach, and Kaylee—will relocate to Lancaster this May. He will officially begin his full-time duties on May 27.
