The Lancaster Bible College Men's Track & Field team competed in the National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 7-9. The Chargers were able to compete amongst some of the best Christian college programs across the country finishing 19
th with 12 total points.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the weekend was freshman
Kyle Durkin finishing third overall in Men's Javelin with a mark of 55.14-meters. Durkin was named an NCCAA All-American and finished atop the podium.
In the Men's Decathlon,
Micah Richardson set a new school record with 4,953 total points finishing 7
th overall and teammate
Benjamin Cornish placed 10
th with a score of 3,887 points.
David Helms was another bright spot for the Chargers finishing fifth overall in the 10k with a time of 32:40.78. Helms broke his former teammate's,
Mitchell Gray, record by 11 total seconds.
Chase Gerber finished 11
th in the Men's High Jump with a height of 1.80-meters.
Aidan Miller set a new school record in the triple jump on Friday afternoon finishing 10
th overall with a distance of 13.36-meters.
Emery McCombs finished 13
th overall in Shot Put with a distance of 11.92-meters.
Malone went on to win the event with 113 total points.
