Men’s Soccer Drops Close Contest in Opener

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team opened up their 2025 season on Friday, August 29 as they traveled to Annville, Pa. to face Lebanon Valley, dropping a close game 0-1. The Chargers open the year 0-1 while the Flying Dutchmen start the year with a win at 1-0.

How it Happened:
Lebanon Valley earned a pair of corner kicks in the first 15 minutes and took five shots, with freshman goalie Micah Dressler making three saves right off the cuff for the Chargers. Junior Owen Shoemaker placed the first shot on goal for LBC in 2025, getting saved but forcing a corner kick to up the pressure. Lancaster Bible earned two more corners in the half with sophomore Moses Katembo taking a pair of shots, but the score was tied 0-0 through the first half of play.

Both teams earned multiple corner kicks at the front end of the second half but neither team found the goal. That was until the 67th minute when the Flying Dutchmen found the back of the net to open the score 1-0. Lebanon Valley kept up the pressure with six more shots and kept the Chargers without a shot in the second half as they rode their momentum to an opening-day win.
