Women’s Soccer Falls to Highlanders in First Game

The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team traveled to Houghton, N.Y. for their first contest of 2025, falling 4-0 to Houghton on the road. The Chargers begin the year 0-1 overall while the Highlanders improve to 2-0 overall.

How it Happened:
Houghton earned a corner kick seven minutes in, but a minute later the Chargers sparked on offense with a shot by graduate student Jade Weir then a corner kick with another shot by Weir that was saved. The Highlanders responded with three straight shots, then Lancaster Bible worked it back with shots by senior Janae Bergey and junior Haley Moyer. Houghton broke down the scoreless tie in the 32nd minute as they scored to take the lead, then six minutes later scored again on the Chargers to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Chargers fired the first shots of the second half as junior Isabella Eufemia and senior Leah Perreault got shots off, but Houghton went down the field and scored again in the 58th minute to add to their lead. Before LBC could get another shot off, the Highlanders struck again as they scored in the 66th minute to go up 4-0 as they would win by that score on their home turf.
