Men’s Soccer Wins 4-0 at Centenary (N.J.)

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team traveled to Hackettstown, N.J. on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference matchup with Centenary (N.J.), earning a 4-0 shutout win on the road. The Chargers improve to 3-2-1 overall while the Cyclones fall to 2-5 overall.

How it Happened:
The Chargers had lots of early opportunities as they had five shots and a corner kick in the first ten minutes, with senior Andrew Cox forcing a shot on goal for a save. In the 15th minute, Cox connected with fellow senior Ben Nolt for the opening goal of the game for an early Charger lead. The Cyclones earned a corner kick, but the field quickly flipped as the Chargers had two shots on goal before junior Dan Marcroft got a goal to go in the 23rd minute to boost the lead to 2-0 for LBC. Lancaster Bible began to rotate their lineup in many ways as they outpaced the Cyclones, eventually connecting on another goal as junior Zach Coryell scored in the 35th minute unassisted. The Chargers held Centenary (N.J.) to just one shot in the first half as LBC led by three scores at the half.

It took the Chargers less than three minutes to find the scoreboard again in the second half as Nolt scored his second of the game, putting the game out of reach at 4-0 in favor of Lancaster Bible. All four of the Chargers' goalkeepers got playing time in the match as they cruised in the second half to close out a 4-0 road win.
