Bergey has been on an unprecedented run for the Chargers over the past two weeks as she has scored at an elite rate, tallying 11 total goals over the past four games. For this past week, Janae netted back-to-back hat tricks with three goals each in wins over Goucher 4-0 on Thursday and Wilson 5-0 on Saturday in LBC's first United East game of the year. Janae is the first player in the Chargers' Division III history to score three goals in three consecutive games and the first Charger with three hat-tricks in a single season since Monica Horning in 2012 when Lancaster Bible won its first-ever conference title as NEAC champions. Heading into last night, Bergey was tied for 5th in the nation in total goals with 11, then added two more goals in a 3-0 home win over Albright at home to get to 13 total scores with an assist as well to make it 27 total points this year.
Â
Moyer has been a rock-solid defender for the Chargers in her third season, anchoring the back line for the LBC defense. This couldn't have been more apparent than during this past week when the Chargers secured back-to-back shutout victories over Goucher and Wilson with LBC outscoring their competition 9-0 across two games. Haley and her teammates on defense have moved the ball exceptionally well and silenced the opposition's scoring opportunities as the Chargers have put together four consecutive wins for the first time in two years.
Â
Dougherty was the Chargers' top finisher on Saturday as they competed at the Dickinson Long & Short Invitational in Carlisle, Pa. with a time of 24:22.5, earning her an 18th Place finish. Lancaster Bible placed eighth out of 19 teams as Seana was at the front of the pack, making her the top finisher in the United East this week. Lancaster Bible is coming off two straight meets claiming the top spot against many United East programs, helping the Chargers continue to gear up for the postseason meet on November 1 in Media, Pa.
Â
Breinich is making a splash for Men's Golf as a freshman as he has led the Chargers in both of their competitions so far, landing them in seventh place out of 15 teams this past Tuesday at the Northampton Cup hosted by Albright. Jon finished in fourth overall for individuals as he shot a 71 on the day for a -1, earning him conference recognition for the week in just his second collegiate competition and giving him one of the best single scores in program history.
Â
Bergey, Moyer, and the rest of the Chargers have their next game on Tuesday, October 7 as they travel to Penn St. Berks at 5:00 p.m. for a road conference matchup. For Cross Country, Dougherty and the Chargers compete on Saturday, October 4 at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn in Langhorne, Pa. starting at 10:00 a.m. Men's Golf takes Breinich and the rest of the Chargers to compete in the United East Preview on Thursday, October 2 in Harrisburg, Pa. at Dauphin Highlands.
