The Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team traveled to take on Valley Forge on Saturday afternoon in Phoenixville, Pa., earning a big 63-25 victory in conference play. The Chargers improve to 8-13 overall and 6-3 in the United East while the Patriots drop to 0-15 overall and 0-9 in the United East.
How it Happened:
Raven Hunter (Sr.) started LBC with a free throw, then it was
Rachel Nolt (Jr.) who made a jumper followed by a Hunter score for a 5-0 start. Valley Forge then got a free throw, then the Chargers scored nine straight points as
Miriam Spender (Fr.) made an and-one layup plus the free throw and
Emily Wilson (Fr.) added a pair of scores. Wilson then scored three more for LBC as the Chargers led 17-5 after one quarter of play.
Nikki Diehl (Fr.) started the second quarter with a jumper, then added another as LBC led 23-5 three minutes in. After four in a row by Valley Forge, Wilson added another layup, then after four more from the Patriots,
Shania Stoltzfus (So.) hit a 3-pointer as the Chargers scored the final six of the half to hold a 31-12 lead at the break.
Hunter started the third quarter with a pair of made shots before Nolt added a jumper as well, with the Chargers starting the half on a 9-0 run. Spender and Wilson also added points in the third as the Chargers held Valley Forge without a made field goal in the quarter and just three total points with a big 48-15 advantage.
Nolt and Hunter each kept up the scoring for the Chargers in the fourth, then with five minutes left Spender made another and-one shot plus the free throw.
Annie Hoffman (Jr.) added two made shots towards the end of the game as the Chargers closed out a big road victory to snap their three-game skid and earn their sixth United East win of the season.

Information to Know:
The Chargers are now 12-5 against Valley Forge since 2008 and have won eight straight games against the Patriots including their last four on the road.
Raven Hunter had one block today, moving her into 3rd place on the program's all-time blocks list with 77, passing Nicole Karschner ('07-'11).
