The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team closed out their stretch of five straight road games on Wednesday night as they traveled to the nation's capital, earning a 6-0 victory over Gallaudet in United East play. The Chargers improve to 4-7-1 overall and 2-1 in the United East while the Bison fall to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in the United East.
How it Happened:
The Chargers had eight shots in the first 15 minutes of the game, with
Riley Bills (Fr.) and
Silas Dellaperute (Jr.) each putting a shot on goal that was saved. The Chargers then had three corner kicks with Dellaperute shooting two more times, then a Gallaudet corner was unsuccessful on the other end. Lancaster Bible totaled 17 shots and eight corner kicks in the first half, but the score was tied after 45 minutes of play.
Another five corner kicks went to the Chargers in the first seven minutes of the second half, finally converting in the 53rd minute as
Joel Walker (Jr.) scored the opening goal off an assist from
Ethan Buss (Fr.). A few minutes later,
Derek Rhine (Sr.) had two shots on goal with Bills adding one as well in a short span with the Chargers getting three more corners as well. With under 15 minutes remaining in the game, the floodgates opened for the Chargers as they unloaded the offense on Gallaudet, scoring three times in three minutes to launch the lead up to 4-0.
Taylor Gehman (So.) was first to score in that span off an assist by
Owen Hickok (So.), then
Gabe Bormolini (Fr.) scored 23-seconds later and Gehman added a second score a minute after that. Bormolini scored a second goal several minutes later, then again to wrap up a hat-trick in the final minute as the Chargers closed out a dominant 6-0 road victory.
